Botanic Gardens news
The Junior Cert. art group visited the “Sculpture in Context” exhibition in the National Botanic Gardens on September 18th. Many of the students have chosen “The Garden” as the theme for their upcoming classroom based assessments. This trip not only gave them the chance to see and analyse other artists responses to this theme in sculptural form but also provided them with an opportunity to make primary source sketches and take lots of photographs of all aspects of the gardens.
It was a beautiful sunny day and the gardens looked resplendent. Hopefully the research drawings the students made and the inspiration the exhibition and gardens gave them will be reflected in their work back in the classroom.
