Under 15 Soccer
The under 15 Soccer squad began their campaign suffering a loss in the first round of the Leinster Cup losing 3-1 to St.Declans.
League campaign due to begin shortly
Under 17 Soccer
The under 17 soccer team began their 2015/16 campaign with victory over Beneavin College in the first round of the league on a score of 4-3. Having falling behind in the first minute to a converted penalty the lads bounced back with goals from an og nand a super long-range strike from Conor Fowler to take the lead 2-1. Sloppy defending resulted in an equaliser but two further goals from Aaron Molloy and Andy Bermingham gave the Bros a 4-2 half time lead. Further sloppy played resulted in a third strike for Beneavin but the team held out for a first win.
A game to forget as the Under 17's crashed out of the Leinster Cup at the first hurdle losing 3-1 against St.Paul's, Raheny. In a game in which we had as much if not more possession and an equal number of goal scoring chances was lost as a result of squandering those chances.
Better luck and indeed better finishing was in evidence on Wednesday 11th when we drew with St.Declans, Cabra in the league in a very entertaining 3-3 draw. Having taken the lead through Jack McGlade we found ourselves 3-1 behind with 5 mins of the 2nd half played but in a very exciting finish a strike from McGlade and a header from Aaron Molloy snatched a draw at the death.
A crucial final league game with winners take all against St. Pauls will take place on Mon 24th Nov. A loss and the season ends, a win and we advance to knock-out stages........
Under 19 Soccer
The under 19 soccer team's season has commenced with matches in the league and Cup withthree games played since Sept winning a thrilling first round in the Leinster Cup beaing St.Aidans Whitehall 5-3 in a penalty shoot-out.
This cup game was followed up with a defeat in the league to Belvedere College, a game which the 3-0 scoreline doesn't truly reflect. Having missed a number of good chances we conceded 3 goals to lose out. Better fortune came in the 2nd league game when we beat a very determined and hardworking St.Davids from Artane. This puts us in a good position with Malahide to come in the league and a win here will see us advance to the knockout stages.
Unfortunately our cup exploits are over as we exited the Leinster Cup against old rivals Belvedere losing 4-1 on the day.
Our next game is against Malahide, a game we have to win to keep our season alive, a loss and we're out of all competitions at this level.
