The “Bros” are on the march……..

The 2017/18 soccer season kicked off  with a Leinster Under 17 Preliminary Round tie versus St. Joseph’s Fairview in Alfie Byrne Park which saw the boys win on a scoreline of 4-2 to progress to the 1st round. The 1st round match versus Pobal Setanta Clonee turned out to be a very one-sided affair with a 10-1 victory for the Bros! The 2nd round tie saw the “Bros” pitted against CBS Lucan(Colaiste Phadraig) again a home fixture. After a sloppy start in which we conceded 2 poor goals we eventually worked our way back into the game with goals from Bradley Rodgers and Matt Kinahan to level the game coming into half-time. A superb free-kick from Carl Rooney put us ahead but again poor concentration from us allowed the Lucan side an opening which they seized to level  the game at 3-3. Two brilliant goals from captain Keith Carter sealed the win which was well deserved. A home tie in the last 16 of the Leinster cup against Clonkeen now beckons.

The under 17’s opened their league campaign with a 9-0 victory over a very depleted Portmarnock who actually did well to fulfil the fixture given that they only had 11 players. This was followed up with a 1-1 draw away to Ashbourne, with a sweetly struck effort from Jamie Redmond moments after being introduced as a sub. However, again we conceded a sloppy goal to force a draw. A 5-2 defeat of Ratoath, the highlight of which was a superb Matt Kinahan hatrick, secured the under 17’s place in the league knock-out stages

The senior Under 19’s kicked off with a 6-1 victory over St. David’s Artane. More results and reports to follow…

The under 15’s opened their season with a 2-1 defeat to St. Paul’s Raheny. A brilliant strike by Ryan Kinahan in the first half looked like being enough to secure the points even though we had chances galore to add to the lead. But lady luck was not on our side and we conceded two very late goals to lose 2-1.

Our second match against Pobal Setanta Clonee turned out to be easier than anticipated with a 7-0 rout to secure a place in the knock-out stages.

The first year boys beat Drimnagh Castle 6-5 in a thriller on Friday 24th November in the 1st round of the Leinster cup with a superb 4 goal haul from Alex O’Brien.
